Last Thursday 11/12/09 I downloaded some free software to my laptop and it caused my system to have multiple problems. The first one being that when I clicked on the icon to open that software it went off to never never land. I couldn't end by going to task manager, I couldn't end by hitting cntl alt del. I finally ended by just turning off the lap top.
Then I rebooted and everything seemed fine. I clicked on my internet explorer to open it and guess what? I was back in never never land again. with the computer totally frozen. After several attempts I finaly was able to get out of this loop restart my computer and go on. I removed the rogue software and worked for a few hours shut down and went to bed.
Friday 11/13/09 problem was back. I spent all day trying to fix it.
I had some success but the problem kept coming back.
So ...Saturday we flew to Orlando - we had lots of fun going through security at the airport. We had our grandson, Darren 16 mos old. his stroller, and his car seat, My husband Don is legally blind so he had his white cane, he also has an artificial knee and an artificial elbow so he had to be wanded down by security. When we got our boarding passes we found out that all 4 of us were in individual seats in different aisles even Darren. They told us we could change our seats at the gate but there was no attendant to help us.
After waiting at gate A 44 for our flight and an attendant for over an hour, we were told that now we had to move from gate A 44 to gate A 33 opposite sides of the terminal.
Don can barely walk, I can barely walk so we send Theresa to run ahead and try to get the seats changed. Don grabs the car seat and the strolle and I grab all the rest of our carry on bags (my lap top, the diaper bag, my purse, books snacks and miscellaneous). We looked pretty funny hobeling along. We got to the gate and Theresa managed to get her seat changed so she and Darren were sitting together but Don and I were separated. That's ok we considered this hugely successful.
We finally board the plane and squeeze ourselves down the aisle. Theresa is in an aisle seat Drren is installed in his car seat in the middle seat and they have a very nice young man in their aisle in the window seat. I get to my row and I am going to be in the middle seat. Those of you who know me know that I am not a small woman. so the people who have the aisle and window seat happen to be related and offer me the window seat this is great. It takes me 10 mintues to unload my carry on's and get seated. The stewardess tells Theresa that Darren and his car seat have to be in the window seat.
Can you imagine this as a Seinfeld episode????????
Now we play musical airplane seats. Did I mention this is frontier airlines? We are not the only family that was split up. We wouldn't have had this problem if they would have let us make our seating arrangements 6 months ago when I first made the reservations.
Theresa, Darren and I finally ended up in the same aisle.
We had a very nice flight to Orlando, thanks to 2 gin and tonics. Robert picked us up at the airport. The time share we are staying at is beautiful.
After we got settled I logged on to my laptop to finish my assignment for my class. My computer problem appears to be fixed. I work for a while and my battery starts to run down. I go to my bag to get the battery charger and no charger to be found.
That's it I'm doomed.
I don't want to leave this blog on such a depressing note so I will tell you that Robert has the same type of laptop I have a (DELL). his charger works on my laptop. Eureeka I'm in business again.
We went to tampa on Sunday 11/15 to visit some friends. Monday 11/16 we had our Early Thanksgiving dinner and went to Epcot center where Robert is working in the Independence Inn.
Today I am finishing my assignment and then we are off to the Magic Kingdom "the happiest place on earth"
